Freedom Boat Club of Jacksonville and St. Augustine, owned by Kevin Seelig and Lisa Almeida, won Franchise of the Year honors at the company’s national conference in Fort Myers, Fla.
George Biastre, who also works at the Jacksonville/St. Augustine franchise, won Membership Executive of the Year for top sales.
The company also handed out other achievement awards at the conference.
“It’s always a wonderful experience to recognize our top performers and to thank them for their hard work and contributions,” Freedom Boat Club president and CEO John Giglio said in a statement. “It was a truly phenomenal year for Freedom Boat Club and our entire franchise operation. We are very proud of the growth and success of our clubs and the great job they are doing collectively in their respective markets.”
The 2017 Pacesetter’s Club recognizes the top 10 Freedom Boat Club franchises in North America. This year’s induction honored owners from Vancouver, B.C.; Maryland/ Washington, D.C.; Tampa Bay; Lake Lanier, Ga.; eastern New York; San Diego; Lake Norman, N.C.; Sebastian Inlet, Fla.; Chicago; and Hilton Head, S.C.
The Marketer of the Year and Territory Expansion awards were won by the Tampa Bay location, which is owned by Glenn Bergoffen. Matt O’Hara of Freedom Boat Club of Lake George, N.Y., won the Marketing Brand Champion award.
Rookie of the Year went to Nick Hooge, of the Seattle franchise, and Don and Ann Spaeth of the Freedom Boat Club of Fort Pierce, Fla., won the award for the highest percentage increase in revenue.
The National Charity Marketing Partners honor, a new award, recognized 14 franchises that worked with the Big Brothers Big Sisters e of America marketing campaign.
Clubs honored included those in Buffalo, N.Y.; the Palm Beaches, Fla.; Lake George, N.Y.; St. Joseph, Mich.; Jacksonville/St. Augustine, Fla.; Hilton Head, S.C.; Annapolis, Md.; Lake Erie, Ohio; Boston; Fort Pierce, Fla.; Lake Norman, N.C.; and Charleston, S.C.
Freedom Boat Club of Texas, owned by Bill Marquardt and Scott Isaacks, received the National Charity Marketing Superstar award for raising more than $7,000 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization in its market.
